Spammers Are Targeting Your Contact Form – Here’s How To Stop Them

If you are a service provider and owner of a service-based website, you will agree with me that if you want to book appointments with serious prospective clients, it’s time to scrap the online form.

Why?

Spammers have started filling out forms just to promote themselves.

The worst part is they fall into your email list and CRM. Only for them to unsubscribe when they start getting your drip emails. What a waste of time.

On the other hand, some of my clients are being bombarded with numerous spam messages from online forms, and if you really care about your clients and the stress, you’d be under pressure to fix the mess coming from this spam.

I’ve decided to replace the contact form with:

  • Appointment Scheduling Software
  • Payment Gateways: to request service fees ahead of time.

Take a look at this infographic below:

The left one was me until I switched to calendly on the right. Now I talk to serious buyers and close deals.

And I synced my Calendly with Zoom.us.

And Calendly.com takes care of the rest.

Before I join the zoom meeting, the customer is already waiting for me to start the meeting.

Imagine that!

Now that’s how it’s supposed to be.

If you don’t want to waste your sales team’s time talking to shitty leads, replace your online forms with appointment booking forms like Calendly or Acuity.

The spammers will back off.

Your sales manager will thank you for it.

It’s time to attract and talk to Meeting Qualified Leads, not Marketing Qualified Leads.

Meeting Qualified Leads is the new MQL.

Top 3 Appointment Scheduling Apps:

  • Calendly
  • Acuity
  • Hubspot Meeting
  • Drift Live Chat

If you still need to use the regular online forms, another good way to prevent spammers from contacting you is to use CAPTCHA.

CAPTCHA is a security feature that requires users to enter a code from a distorted image before they are allowed access. This prevents spam bots from completing your contact form and reaching your inbox.

A CAPTCHA is also beneficial because it automates the process of screening out unwanted submissions, which can help reduce the amount of administrative work required by humans for this task.

Spamming is a problem that is becoming more and more prevalent in today’s world. I hope this article has provided an answer for a common question people have about how to stop spam messages from coming into their contact form.
